An architectural monument in Bukhara (Figs. 13-14). In the eastern part of Bukhara (the old Fatkhabad district), two mausoleums were built: the Mausoleum of Bayankulykhan and the Mausoleum of Sayfiddin Boharzi. The small burial chamber of the Sayfiddin Boharzi Mausoleum (13-a. 2nd half) and the shrine (14-a. 2nd half) is domed.

The Sayfiddin Boharziy Mausoleum is a remarkable architectural monument dating from the 13th–14th centuries, located in the historic Fathobod area east of Bukhara. Together with the nearby Buyankulikhan Mausoleum, it forms one of the city's most important religious and historical complexes.

The mausoleum consists of a burial chamber built in the second half of the 13th century and a pilgrimage hall added in the second half of the 14th century. Both structures are crowned with elegant domes. The main façade features a deep arched portal flanked by decorative corner towers. The interior is adorned with intricate muqarnas decorations and finely crafted architectural details.

The mausoleum contains the tomb of the famous Sufi scholar Sayfiddin Boharziy, as well as those of his sons, grandson, and other descendants. Historical sources state that Amir Timur regularly visited the shrine during his journeys to Bukhara. By his order, the mausoleum was renovated and expanded with a new pilgrimage hall and eastern portal.

One of the most valuable elements of the monument is the richly decorated wooden cenotaph above the saint’s grave. Its carving techniques and gilded ornaments are considered outstanding examples of Timurid woodcraft. After Uzbekistan gained independence, the mausoleum was restored, and the beautiful Fathobod Garden was created around the complex.
