In the 7th–6th centuries BC, Gijduvan Kurgan was founded by Oghuz tribes of Turkic origin. This city is located on the "Great Silk Road" and already in the 10th century was among the largest cities of Central Asia: Samarkand, Bukhara and Shahrisabz.
Eramizdan oldingi VII-VI asrlar G‘ijduvon Qo‘rg‘oniga turkiy qabilalardan bo‘lgan O‘g‘uzlar asos solishgan. Mazkur shahar “Buyuk ipak yo‘li” yoqasida joylashgan bo‘lib, X asrdayoq Markaziy Osiyoning yirik shaharlari: Samarqand, Buxoro va Shahrisabz shaharlari qatorida .
