Namozgoh in Bukhara is a place of worship intended for praying during the Eid al-Adha and Ramadan holidays, located in the southwest of Bukhara. The word "Namozgoh" means a place where prayer is performed, and it is a sacred act within the framework of moral rules.

The Bukhara Namazgah is a historic open-air mosque built for Eid prayers in the southern part of Bukhara. It was originally established in the 11th century during the Karakhanid period by Shams al-Mulk and was rebuilt and expanded several times between the 11th and 16th centuries.

The mosque is famous for its beautifully decorated mihrab, adorned with geometric patterns, carved ornaments, and inscriptions from the Qur’an. Restoration works were carried out during the reigns of the Karakhanids, Amir Timur, and later under Abdullah Khan II of the Shaybanid dynasty.

Surrounded by gardens and walls in the past, the Namazgah served as one of Bukhara’s main religious gathering places. Today, it is recognized as an important architectural monument and is included in Uzbekistan’s National Register of Cultural Heritage Sites.
