The original name of the "Oybinoq" mosque is derived from the female name "Oybinoq," which is named after Oybibi inoq, and is believed to have originated from the words Oy-bibi-inoq or oy-biy-inoq. Opposite the mosque is the Ibrahim Akhund Madrasah, which has now been converted into a hotel. Previously, this madrasah served as a place for learning.

Oybinoq” jome’ masjidi asli nomi oybibi inoq nom bilan nomlangan "Oybinoq " ayol kishi ismidan olingan bo‘lib, Oy-bibi-inoq yoki oy -biy- inoq so‘zlaridan kelib chiqqan deb taxmin qilinadi. Masjid qarshisida Ibrohim Ohund madrasasi joylashgan ushbu madrasa hozirda mehmonxona qilingan. Ilgari ushbu madrasada ilm oladigan dargoh bo‘lgan.
