According to archaeologists of the Khorezm Mamun Academy, the mosque was founded in the 10th century. The mosque, of which only the walls and one carved wooden door have survived, was in its time a multi-column mosque (5 rows), similar to the Juma Mosque in Khiva.
Xorazm Ma’mun akademiyasi arxeolog olimlari shurf qazib aniqlashlaricha, masjidga X asrda asos solingan. Hozirda faqat devorlari va bitta yog‘och o‘ymakori eshigi saqlanib qolgan masjid o‘z davrida Xivadagi Juma masjid kabi ko‘p ustunli (5 qator) masjid bo‘lgan.
