Domla Hasan Madrasah

A madrasah was built in the historical center of Bukhara in the 19th century during the reign of the Uzbek-Manghit dynasty. It is located on Mehtar Ambar Street in the Kukaldosh neighborhood. The architectural monument is included in the "National List of Real Estate Objects of the Material Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan."

Domulla Hasan Madrasah (also known as Bozori Alaf Madrasah) is a two-story historical madrasah located in the historic center of Bukhara, Uzbekistan. It is included in the National Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage Sites of Uzbekistan and is currently used as a tourist facility.

The madrasah was built in the early 19th century in the Kokilayi Khurd quarter during the reign of Emir Haydar. Its construction was financed by the prominent scholar Hasan Okhund ibn Khol az-Zarir al-Bukhari, known as Domulla Hasan. He served as a mufti, taught at the Kukeldash Madrasah, and later attained the rank of religious scholar. After his death in 1857, his son Abdulhaq continued teaching at the madrasah.

After the establishment of Soviet rule, educational activities in the madrasah ceased. In 2011, restoration and conservation works were carried out under a state preservation program. Today, the building serves tourism purposes, while some of its ground-floor cells facing the street have been converted into shops.

Architecturally, the madrasah is a two-story structure built of baked brick and consists of 23 student cells (hujras).
