Boboyi Poradoz or Khoja Poradoz is associated with the pseudonym of the Bukharan Sufi Muhammad bin Ahmad Abu Bakr al-Iskafa. Khoja Poradoz was recognized by the people as the "leader of faith" and the "Great Imam."

The Boboyi Poradoʻz Mausoleum is a historical and architectural monument located in Bukhara, outside the former Sallakhona Gate. Built in the 19th century, it stands over the grave of the scholar and Sufi sheikh Hazrat Boboyi Poradoʻz (842–925), whose nickname means “the patch-maker.” He was known for his work as a shoemaker and leather craftsman and is regarded as the patron saint of shoemakers.

The mausoleum is an important pilgrimage site visited by shoemakers, tailors, leatherworkers, and other craftsmen. Besides Boboyi Poradoʻz, several other individuals are also buried within the complex. The building features small and large domes, a marble cenotaph, a mihrab, and decorative architectural elements. Following Uzbekistan’s independence, the mausoleum was restored with the support of local benefactors.

According to local legends, the soil from the saint’s grave is believed to have healing properties and is said to help treat wounds and skin diseases.

Architecture

The mausoleum was built in the traditional Central Asian architectural style using baked brick, wood, stone, and gypsum plaster. The monument has been preserved and remains an important spiritual and historical site in Bukhara.
