Over the centuries, this honorable name has been known to people in the Muslim world as "Sheikh Naqshband," "Khojai Buzurg," "Shah Naqshband," and the Naqshbandi Sufi order founded by him still has many followers.

The Bahauddin Naqshband Memorial Complex is one of the most important religious and pilgrimage sites in Uzbekistan, located in Qasri Orifon near Bukhara. It is dedicated to the great Sufi master Bahauddin Naqshband (1318–1389), the founder of the Naqshbandi order, whose followers are found throughout the Islamic world.

The architectural ensemble began to take shape in the 16th century during the reign of Abdulaziz Khan and includes a mausoleum, khanaqah, mosques, a minaret, a madrasa, courtyards, and other historical structures. Over the centuries, successive rulers of Bukhara contributed to its expansion and restoration.

Bahauddin Naqshband taught spiritual purity, honest work, modesty, and self-discipline. The central principle of his teachings is “Dil ba yor, dast ba kor” (“Let your heart be with God and your hands be at work”). Today, the complex attracts thousands of pilgrims and visitors from around the world each year.
