The "Abu Ali ibn Sino" Museum, located in the village of Afshona in the Peshkun district. The memorial complex houses a museum and a monument to the scientist, the authors of which are sculptor Kh. Khusnitdinhodjaev and architect R. Tokhtaganov.

The Ibn Sina (Avicenna) Memorial Museum is located in the village of Afshona, about 40 km from Bukhara, where the great scholar Abu Ali ibn Sina (980–1037) was born. The museum exhibition is dedicated to the life and scientific achievements of the renowned Eastern philosopher, physician, and scientist, known in Europe as Avicenna, the founder of medical science.

The museum complex includes a monument to Ibn Sina, created by sculptor H. Husniddinkhojayev and architect R. Tokhtaganov. The museum was established in 1980 to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of the great scholar’s birth.

Visitors can explore copies of Ibn Sina’s famous works, including The Canon of Medicine, The Book of Healing, and The Book of Knowledge, as well as replicas of medical instruments used during his era and pottery artifacts dating from the 20th century.

The renovated exhibition also features coins from the Samanid and Karakhanid periods (10th–11th centuries), ceramic vessels with Arabic (Kufic) inscriptions, a manuscript copy titled “The Property of the Righteous and Generous”, and clay containers once used for storing chemical substances.

The Ibn Sina Memorial Museum maintains friendly relations with the French association “Avicenna-France.” The association donated several copies of Gerard of Cremona’s Latin translation of Ibn Sina’s medical works, as well as reproductions of manuscripts dating from 1447–1448. These valuable documents are now preserved in the State Archive of Peshku District, Bukhara Region.
