Year of construction: 19th century - madrasa in the historical center of Bukhara, built in the early 19th century under the Uzbek ruler Haidar (1800-1826), possibly at the expense of a certain Abdurahmani olam. It is part of the architectural ensemble of Khoja-Gaukushana (Gaukushana). Hamid Alimjan neighborhood. It is located on Bahauddin Naqshband Street.

A'lam Madrasah (also known as Abdurahman A'lam Madrasah) is a historical two-story madrasa located in the historic center of Bukhara, Uzbekistan. It is included in the National Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage Sites of Uzbekistan.

The madrasa was built in 1809 in the Govkushon quarter during the reign of Emir Haydar by Mirzo Abdurahman A'lam, a prominent statesman and scholar of the Bukhara Emirate. He served as a'lam (a high-ranking official) and was known for his intelligence and diplomatic skills. Due to his ability to resolve complex issues, he was sent as an ambassador to the court of the Kokand ruler Umar Khan, where he successfully completed his mission.

After his death in 1809, the madrasa continued to function as an educational institution until the Soviet period. Historical waqf documents related to the madrasa have survived, providing valuable information about its endowments and maintenance. One document from 1888 records donations of land, shops, and caravanserais for the support of the madrasa.

Architecture

The madrasa is a two-story brick structure built in the traditional architectural style of Bukhara. It served as a center of religious education and included student cells and teaching facilities. Today, it remains an important historical monument reflecting the educational and cultural heritage of Bukhara.
